Vancouver defenseman Quinn Hughes left the game with 9:05 remaining in the third period. Coach Rick Tocchet said he “tweaked something” and will be evaluated on Sunday, though he did not yet know the severity of the injury.
Burakovsky gave the Kraken a 1-0 lead at 5:47 of the first period, one-timing a backhand saucer pass from Shane Wright over Lankinen’s glove from the right circle on a 2-on-1.
“I thought [Burakovsky] was flying tonight,” said Wright, who finished with two assists. “I thought he was really moving well, skating well, and when he’s possessing the puck like that, he’s cutting back and using his skills, that’s when he’s at his best.”
Suter tied it 1-1 at 11:35, beating Daccord glove side with a quick shot from the left circle after Seattle defenseman Vince Dunn blindly passed the puck from below the goal line right onto his stick.
The goal was Suter's 16th this season, an NHL career high.
“[I’ve done] some good stuff, some stuff to improve,” Suter said. “I’m shooting this year, and I think that kind of shows in the goals.”
Chytil put Vancouver back in front 2-1 at 16:27 of the first. Tyler Myers’ slap shot from the point got blocked by the stick of Bjorkstrand, but the puck trickled right to Chytil, who slid the puck past Daccord's right pad in front.
“[Chytil] is obviously a really talented guy,” Tocchet said. “There’s a lot to work with him, so there’s some parts to his game we’re going to work on, but I think for the rush game, holding onto pucks, we need that type of play in our lineup.”
Bjorkstrand tied it 2-2 at 4:11 of the second period, tipping Montour’s wrist shot from the point at the top of the crease.
Joshua again responded for Vancouver to make it 3-2 at 8:05. He took a pass from Drew O'Connor on a 2-on-1 short-handed rush, cut back across the crease, and tucked a backhand past Daccord's left pad into the open net.
Beniers tied it for the third time at 12:08. He won a face-off back to Dunn before skating toward the net and redirecting the defenseman’s slap shot over Lankinen’s glove.
“We want to be a relentless team,” Seattle coach Dan Bylsma said. “We want to be a team that keeps coming at you regardless of the situation, regardless of where we’re playing.”
Tolvanen gave Seattle a 4-3 lead at 13:08 of the second, tipping Ryker Evans’ wrist shot from the left point.
“That's one thing that we try to harp on is getting forwards to the net,” Montour said. “Obviously, it's tough when goalies can't see it or we get good tips, and we had a few goals like that.”
Montour pushed it to 5-3 at 5:38 of the third period. He received a pass from Jared McCann at the right point, skated to the top of the circle, and scored with a slap shot past Lankinen’s blocker.
Tolvanen added an empty-net goal at 18:29 for the 6-3 final.
“[It was] probably just not enough desperation for the time and moment that we’re in,” Joshua said.
NOTES: Wright leads the Kraken with 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) in 23 games since Jan. 1. ... Tolvanen has scored 18 goals this season, tying his NHL career high he set in 2022-23.
