WWE legend Trish Stratus rocks Maple Leafs jersey at SmackDown

Cheers of “Thank you Trish!” rang down from the WWE crowd during Friday Night SmackDown in Toronto, and wrestling legend Trish Stratus had a quippy response to the warm welcome.

“It’s the jersey, isn’t it?” she said to the crowd.

Stratus was wearing a custom Toronto Maple Leafs jersey as she was introduced into the ring on Friday, proudly repping her hometown team.

The Toronto native and WWE Hall of Famer is known as one of the best female wrestlers in history, holding a record seven Women’s Championships during her run with WWE.

Stratus addressed her hometown crowd on Friday at Scotiabank Arena – home of the Maple Leafs – wearing the stylish NHL sweater, then on Saturday during the WWE Elimination Chamber at Rogers Center, she teamed up with Tiffany Stratton (who also had her own Maple Leafs jersey) during their match.

They won their matchup, and it may or may not have been because of the jerseys.
